Ignacio J. Gorrín
Ignacio J. Gorrín-Maldonado is a partner of the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group as well as the Real Estate and Financing Practice Group. Mr. Gorrín has a Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law, and a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Sciences with a Major in Political Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico. Mr. Gorrín is admitted to practice law before the Courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and before the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
For the last sixteen years Mr. Gorrín served as a Staff Attorney for the Real Estate, Financing and Bankruptcy Group, Corporate Division, as well as for the Litigation Division of the Law Firm of Fiddler, Gonzalez & Rodriguez P.S.C. His areas of practice include General Civil Litigation, Mortgage and Notarial law, matters before the Registry of Property of Puerto Rico, mortgage foreclosures and real estate transactions. In addition, Mr. Gorrin-Maldonado regularly appears before administrative agencies. Mr. Gorrín-Maldonado’s professional experience includes managing complex cases and consultations in the following areas: commercial and banking litigation, construction litigation, torts defense and insurance defense. Mr. Gorrín-Maldonado has counseled clients such as financial institutions, including local banks, airline carriers, mortgage companies and governmental agencies.
Mr. Gorrín has served on several occasions as Judge in moot courts at the Legal Aid Clinic of the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and other competitions. He has served as lecturer at seminars sponsored by the “Academia Judicial Puertorriqueña” related to mortgage foreclosure proceedings before local courts, as well as seminars sponsored by the Puerto Rico Bankers Association. He has also served as a lecturer at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where he has provided a bank lending seminar. He is a member of the Board of Directors of “Colegio de Notarios de Puerto Rico”
